Porsche GT3 RSR
The most powerful race car based on the Porsche 911, which last season secured wins in the American Le Mans Series and the Nürburgring 24 Hours among others, competes in the GT2 class in international long-distance races.
The most distinctive exterior feature of the 911 GT3 RSR for the 2009 season is the redesigned front section with the large ventilation opening on the bonnet. It hints at the completely revamped air guide on the radiator required for the optional air-conditioning system.
After another reduction in the size of the air restrictor for the 2009 season, the 4-litre boxer engine now delivers around 450 hp (331 kW) at 7,800 rpm. The engine also features an optimised torque curve and offers better driveability.
The brake system with optimised weight compared to the previous model and the lighter vehicle wiring harness also ensure improved driving dynamics.
Ease of servicing in racing operation has been further improved. So, for example, the new air-jack system now has a pressure relief valve. The oil refill with fast-filling function has been moved to the rear lid, where it is easier for the mechanics to access during the pit stop.
